We are excited to offer a career opportunity with a leading company in the heavy plant and machinery sector for a Workshop Technician - Heavy Plant Equipment.Role Overview:

As a Workshop Technician, you will undertake a range of workshop activities, including the maintenance and overhaul of used paving machines, preparation of new machines, and the production and manufacture of new products. Working to written job instructions, quality standards, and safety protocols, this is an excellent opportunity to utilize your mechanical engineering skills in a hands-on environment.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Perform planned inspections, maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on used paving machines, preparing them for sale.
  • Undertake fitting work on new-build machines.
  • Ensure the workshop, yard, and wash-down bay are clean, tidy, and secure.
  • Maintain workshop tools and equipment in proper condition.
  • Accurately document and report maintenance, repairs, adjustments, and inspections.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and quality procedures.
  • Requisition parts within approved budgets.
  • Assist with any reasonable tasks to support the company's operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Qualification in mechanical engineering discipline (preferred).
  • Proven fitting and mechanical skills.
  • Previous experience working with heavy plant equipment, preferably paving machines.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy plant equipment.
Key Performance Indicators:
  1. Workshop jobs completed within the allocated timescale.
  2. Workshop jobs completed within budget hours.
