Electrical Design Engineer with industrial automation background sought to join a leading specialist in inspection machinery and AI vision products.

Supporting an international client base, this small & friendly team has a reputation for providing high quality machinery utilising high-technology systems. Projects are bespoke for each client and you will be designing machines with a combination of vision systems, AI, mixed reality and robotic systems. The projects you will support cover the entire range of factory automation processes and procedures for a growing base of blue-chip manufacturers. Their success is built on a reputation for innovation, quality and precision. 

The Electrical Design Engineer will be confident to work as part of a team and will involve utilising AutoCAD Electrical to design panels and electrical schematics for small retro-fit camera systems through to large industrial automation machinery. Duties will include:

  • Create electrical schematics and designs within AutoCAD Electrical including layout diagrams, and terminal & wiring plans to EU Standards
  • Specify electrical components and control gear for industrial automation systems
  • Work with the Design and Applications Engineering team to provide drawings, and specifications and deliver projects on time
  • Help as required for the electrical fitting, wiring of panels and assembly of machine builds
  • Carry out electrical testing procedures on new machine builds
  • Supporting electrical problem-solving during the manufacturing build process

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with c1-2 years+ industry experience including utilising a CAD package – AutoCAD Electrical ideal. You will also have:

  • Understanding of electrical control gear and industrial automation
  • Experience of designing and creating electrical panel layouts
  • A logical approach to problem-solving
  • Well organised, ability to work to deadlines and high attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise a heavy workload
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - both written and verbal
  • Ability and willingness to work as part of a team

Any experience of robotics, PLC and controls advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Electrical Designer with plenty of initiative keen to join a dynamic, growing company operating in a high technology market.

Based within purpose-built modern offices with free car parking and excellent public transportation links. Salary is based on a 37.5 hour week working 8.30-4.30 Monday – Thursday, 8-4 Friday. Overtime paid at enhanced rate if required. Annual profit share paid c £3k, healthcare following probation and 25 days holiday + stats.

Please note this is an office based role.
