Design Engineer

c. £40,000 - £50,000 (negotiable dependent on skillset and experience)

Margate 5 days on site

Mon-Fri 37.5hrs flexi-time

Rare opportunity to join a thriving global market leading Engineering company who are at the forefront of their field!

We are currently seeking an experienced, qualified and hands on multi-skilled Engineer with a background in designing industrial products to join a small but established R&D team, developing a range of bespoke products for a range of applications.

Please note this is a senior level Design Engineer role requiring a candidate who is educated to degree level (or equivalent) within a relevant Engineering field and can demonstrate a proven track record in managing the full NPD lifecycle from design through to testing.

Duties for the Product Design Engineer include:

  • Working collaboratively as part of a small R&D team, liaising with other stakeholders internally and externally
  • Carrying out research to support the NPD process, including evaluation of existing products and offering technical support for re-design and problem solving
  • Collating, analysing and presenting data
  • Innovatively and collaboratively designing and developing bespoke products to client specifications
  • Use of CAD software (Inventor, SolidWorks)
  • Physically testing design within on site testing and validation facilities.
  • Working within critical and functional safety manufacturing environment with awareness of and adherence to relevant safety guidelines.
  • Offering support and technical guidance to manufacturing shop floor.
  • Trouble shooting, fault-finding and creatively solving design problems with a focus on continuous improvement
  • All associated administration, project management and documentation
  • Any other duties as required.

To be considered for this exclusive career opportunity, you will be an experience Development Engineer with:

  • A glowing academic record, educated to degree level or equivalent in a related Engineering field
  • Solid experience working within R&D in a relevant industrial field designing and testing products from start to finish
  • Mechanical, electrical and electronics experience and knowledge
  • A genuine passion for Engineering
  • Advanced CAD skills Inventor or SolidWorks preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Practical as well as theoretical skills.
  • The existing right to work in the UK with no sponsorship or restrictions on a permanent basis - this is ESSENTIAL so please DO NOT APPLY if you are unable to meet this criteria
  • The ability to travel to site daily - this is a role based on site only
