Product Design Engineer

Our client is currently seeking a Product Design Engineer to support their R&D function.

This is a great opportunity for an Engineering professional, educated to degree level as a minimum, with solid post-study working experience designing and developing industrial products to join a world leading organisation, working with Engineering experts!

Duties for the Product Design Engineer include:

  • Innovatively and collaboratively designing and developing industrial products 
  • Using CAD softwares and instrumentation 
  • Use CAD software and instrumentation to design new and existing products, ensuring designs maximise efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Collecting and analysing data.
  • Hands on testing of design utilising on site testing facilities.
  • Collaborating with the quality and production teams to ensure compliance with appropriate standards.
  • Offering support and technical guidance to manufacturing shop floor
  • Working as part of a team towards shared goals.

The successful Product Design Engineer will have / be:

  • Educated to BEng. level as a minimum
  • Solid demonstrable experience within a Product Design environment, working with industrial products and systems
  • Excellent underpinning Mechanical Engineering knowledge, with a good multi-skilled understanding
  • A genuine passion for Engineering 
  • Excellent skills using AutoDesk Inventor or SolidWorks developed through work experience 
  • The ability to collaborate across departments to develop products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable practical as well as theoretical skills.
  • The existing right to work  in the UK with no sponsorship or restrictions on a permanent basis - this is ESSENTIAL so please DO NOT APPLY if you are unable to meet this criteria
  • The ability to travel to site daily - this is a role based on site only
