We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school team in the Thanet area. This temporary cover role is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about making a difference in the lives of secondary students with special educational needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide tailored support to secondary students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the classroom environment.
  • Encourage studentsā€™ independence, self-confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Monitor and support the social and emotional well-being of students.
  • Facilitate communication between students and teaching staff.
  • Adapt support techniques to suit the individual needs of each student.
  • Assist with the supervision of students outside of classroom activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with SEN students.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by secondary students with special educational needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, encouraging attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
