We are a leading education recruitment agency seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our client schools in Margate. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a proven track record in SEN support to provide tailored assistance to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide experienced 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning, delivering, and adapting educational activities for pupils with complex needs.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively and confidently handle challenging behaviour.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, therapists, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the students.
  • Support students’ emotional, social, and academic progress through positive reinforcement and customised support plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and collaborate with staff and parents to provide consistent support.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with children with SEN in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN support strategies, particularly with children on the autism spectrum or with behavioural needs.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant, SEN-focused certifications) are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations with a calm and professional approach.
  • Immediate availability to start.
