We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our Margate based client. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's procurement process, ensuring that materials and supplies are purchased at the best possible price and delivered on time to support production needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, supply chain management, and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimise cost savings and efficiency.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
  • Analyse market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track purchasing performance.
  • Manage and mentor a team of purchasing professionals to ensure departmental goals are met.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
