Job Title: Junior Estimator (Construction)

They are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join their dynamic team and contribute to the successful execution of various construction projects.

Role Overview:
As a Junior Estimator, you will assist in preparing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects, including the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost analysis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their estimating skills in the construction industry and grow within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for construction projects based on project specifications and drawings.
  • Prepare and analyse Bills of Quantities (BOQ), ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Review tender documentation, contract documents, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to ensure estimates are completed on time and within budget.
  • Assist in preparing cost breakdowns and reports for clients and internal teams.
  • Conduct site visits to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
  • Track project costs and monitor cost deviations during the construction phase.
  • Provide support in pricing changes, variations, and additional works as required.
  • Ensure all estimating activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.

Key Requirements:

  • A background in construction, with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in estimating or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and practices.
  • Experience with Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft, or similar).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn and grow within the company.
  • A relevant qualification in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
