About the Role

As the Lead Service Engineer, you will take ownership of the service and maintenance operations within our FMCG facility. You will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance team, ensuring that machinery operates efficiently, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production performance. This is a day-shift role offering a competitive salary of £55,000 to £57,000, providing the opportunity to work in a progressive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of service engineers, ensuring all maintenance and service activities are carried out to the highest standard.
  • Oversee reactive and planned maintenance schedules, minimizing downtime and improving machine reliability.
  • Act as the technical expert for troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related faults.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and ensure it meets operational standards.
  • Drive performance improvements through the implementation of continuous improvement processes and initiatives.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, procurement, and supplier relationships to ensure critical components are available.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Mentor and train the maintenance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on maintenance activities and equipment performance to senior management.
