Hays Education is working with a SEN school near Market Harborough who are looking for a new SEND Teaching Assistant to start working after Easter. The school supports children with PMLD as well as those with Autism to prepare for adulthood with a creative and inspiring curriculum. The successful candidate will work full-time until the end of the academic year.

Your new school

This all-through school supports both pupils with a PMLD / SLD presentation and those with an ASD diagnosis. Pupils benefit from a range of specialist provisions including a hydrotherapy pool, music/drama room and forest school. Staff are proud of the excellent environment and care they provide for their pupils - and they can't wait to welcome new people to their team!

Your new role

In your new job as a Teaching Assistant, you'll work with a team of like-minded practitioners to support pupils with PMLD, SLD and ASD to thrive in this welcoming and happy environment. Hays Teaching Assistants make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people who have a range of care needs, life experiences and personalities which make every day different! You'll benefit from on-going support from your Hays consultant, Hollie, who will be there for you throughout this placement and beyond.

What you need to succeed

To succeed in your new job, you'll have a minimum of 1 years' experience working with pupils who have PMLD, SLD or ASD, ideally in an educational setting. You'll be able to adapt to the needs of students across Key Stages with previous experience supporting children with communication and/or sensory needs. Most importantly, you'll be confident stepping into a new school and ready to quickly build relationships with colleagues, pupils and parents.
