Our client, part of a network with over 400 locations across the UK, is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their business advisory services in Market Harborough. The ideal individual will have strong interpersonal skills and will work well in a small, friendly team environment.

Please note that this is an office-based role.

What you can expect:

  • Working hours Monday - Thursday 9am to 5pm, Friday - 9am - 4pm
  • Additional hour to be worked at a time agreed with business owner to make up 37.5 hours per week

As Accounts Assistant, you'll have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Liaise with clients and regulatory government agencies i.e., HMRC, Companies House and Pension providers
  • Assist with the completion of personal tax return preparation
  • Assist with bookkeeping using accounting software
  • Assist with the preparation of VAT returns
  • Assist with the preparation of working papers (Income and expenditure)
  • Assist with management of auto-enrolment pensions
  • Assist with the onboarding of clients
  • General office administration including answering the phones, greeting clients and packaging cases to send to outsourcing partners

We're looking for an Accounts Assistant with the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience within an accountancy practice with exposure to personal tax computations
  • AAT Qualified / Studying or QBE
  • Understanding of Karbon, Xero, TaxCalc, QuickBooks and Ignition is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Good attention to detail
