Based in Market Harborough, Deichmann UK, a subsidiary of Deichmann SE is looking to recruit an enthusiastic & motivated individual to join our Finance & Payroll team as an Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis, 23,000 per annum.

Ideal candidate:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful applicant will support and assist in all aspects of work undertaken within the Finance & Payroll Department, including, accounts, imports, payroll, and general administration.

Key activities:

  • Process of incoming mail both electronically and otherwise
  • Process of Import documentation for customs clearance and deal with any queries
  • Check, manage and process business expenditure
  • Verify and record key business expenses for analysis
  • Responsible for monitoring relevant ledger accounts and deal with any queries
  • Complete tasks to assist in the production of monthly management accounts
  • General administration associated with the Finance function
  • Liaising with suppliers to resolve outstanding issues
  • Assist in other departmental activity in order to deliver on deadlines and targets

Personal characteristics:

  • Educated to GCSE A level or equivalent and/or have worked at this level
  • Possess effective organisational skills
  • Able to work to deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail
  • Have good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel & Powerpoint)
  • Able to work effectively on own initiative or as part of a team
  • An effective communicator, both verbally and written
  • Flexible approach to work and able to adapt to meet changing work priorities
  • Motivated and enthusiastic
  • Ideally have relevant previous experience of accounts payable/ purchase ledger.
