Aspire People are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team and support primary school students in Market Harborough and surrounding areas. As an SEN LSA, you will play a key role in ensuring that students with special educational needs receive the tailored support they require to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.Key Responsibilities:* Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN, following their individual education plans (IEPs).* Work closely with classroom teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.* Support students with a variety of SEN needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and learning difficulties.* Assist with the delivery of personalised interventions to help children achieve their learning goals.* Foster positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and participation in school activities.* Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators (SENCO), and parents to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed.* Support students with any personal care requirements, if necessary.* Help manage behaviour in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies.Requirements:* Previous experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a primary school setting.* A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to working with children.* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.* Strong communication and organisational skills.* Knowledge of SEN strategies, including behaviour management techniques and supporting children with learning challenges.* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.Desirable:* NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification.* Experience using augmentative communication systems (e.g., PECS, Makaton).* Experience in delivering targeted interventions for children with SEN.Why Join Us?* Competitive salary based on experience.* Long-term contract with the option of extending or "as and when"* Developing social and cognitive development* Opportunity to work in a school with a strong community presence* Willing to undertake a DBS through Aspire People or be on the update service* Unlock up to £250 referral fee for each recommendation to Aspire PeopleIf you feel this position is for you, please apply above and I will be in touch.Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business.
