Reed Education are currently exclusively supporting a lovely primary school in LN8 with their recruitment for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a child who has autism. The school are ideally looking for someone who can start after Easter and work until at least July 2025. You will work 08:30 until 15:30 and there may be occasional training.

The school is a mid-sized primary school and a slightly higher than average pupil premium. It has a present, caring and organised senior leadership team and you will be well supported by a fantastic team.

Day to Day of the Role:

•  Work closely with your 1:1 child to support their learning and social/emotional development.

•  Maintain consistent behaviour management in line with the school's behaviour policy, ensuring positive reinforcement is used.

• Communicate regularly with the children's parents/guardians with updates, alongside outside agencies and the school's SLT and SENCO.

• Regularly keep up to date with changes in the EHCP, policies, strategies and CPD.

• Observe, assess, and record each child’s progress, sharing outcomes with parents and colleagues.

• Collaborate with other team members to create a cohesive and supportive environment.

• Attend staff meetings and participate in training and development opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A childcare/TA qualification is desirable but not necessary

• Proven experience working with children

• An enhanced DBS check with child barred list (this can be applied for through Reed).
