GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive school in Market Weighton. The successful candidate will work closely with students who require additional support to manage their behaviour and achieve their full potential.

The staff collaborates to ensure that every student receives the support they need to succeed, creating a positive environment for both students and teachers to grow. 

Responsibilities of the Behaviour Mentor:

  • Provide tailored support to students with behavioural challenges on a one-on-one basis or group basis. 
  • Develop and implement effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, adjusting support plans as needed.
  • Work closely with teachers to integrate behaviour support into classroom activities.
  • Build positive relationships with students, fostering trust and respect.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress.


Requirements of the Behaviour Mentor:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a mentoring or support role.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to their learning.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
