Techtronic Industries (UK) Limited is part of the global TTI group, who are world leaders in cordless technology. We manufacture and sell power tools across the world. TTI UK distributes Milwaukee and Ryobi products through a variety of channels to retail customers and end users.

We have an exciting opportunity to work in our Ryobi UK team as a National Account Manager. As one of the world's largest and most innovative power and garden tool manufacturers, Ryobi specialise in making great tools truly affordable.

With huge investment in the Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) category, there is a need for a strong and strategic National Sales Manager to establish and manage the OPE Specialist division in the UK and Ireland, within the Ryobi UK team. Working closely with the General Manager Ryobi this role will have opportunity to develop and grow their own channel and team, including support from the EMEA product team in developing and introducing new products fit for the UK market.

This is a national role, covering the whole of the United Kingdom, travel to our office in Marlow, Buckinghamshire will be required from time to time.

Key responsibilities:

Brand Building:

  • Maintain a close and effective working relationship with the Marketing Team to develop the brand strategy & expand brand recognition within the Specialist OPE (Outdoor Power Equipment) channel.

  • Convey a consistent brand message across all channels, in line with the overall Ryobi brand strategy.

Product Development:

  • Work closely with the Ryobi product team to identify & develop product opportunities in line with the OPE channel requirements.

  • To liaise with the European product teams to establish a united OPE development approach, suitable for the UK market.

Business development:

  • Build & implement a solid & workable category plan in conjunction with the General Manager Ryobi.

  • Prepare a brand plan annually with anticipated channel growth including revenues.

  • Explore distribution channels to establish and grow the OPE channel and drive the Ryobi Brand within the UK.

  • Work closely with the Brand Manager, to develop & advance Ryobi brand into the outdoor specialists market sector.

Team Management:

  • To establish and grow a small specialists OPE sales team over time, based on success

  • Effectively manage the day to day running of the OPE sales team with the key aim of maintaining and developing new and existing business.

  • Establish effective KPI’s for the OPE sales team in line with the business growth strategy and individual/team development plans

Account Responsibilities:

  • Maintain annual business plans to account level, for each respective national and regional accounts, in conjunction with the corporate strategy.

  • Overall P&L responsibility from gross turnover to operating income.

  • Identify new opportunities for business growth within the channel through strategic product range development and promotional planning

  • Maximize turnover and profitability with new and existing accounts to achieve overall company targets.

  • Timely forecast to business of monthly turnover estimates in line with target and budget expectations.

  • Effective communication in keeping the internal stakeholders such as management, finance, logistics, marketing, product development and customer services up to date with key developments in accounts & market insights.

  • In coordination with the UK Marketing Manager, represent the business at conferences, trade fairs and networking events.

  • Work closely with the General Manager, to develop & advance the Ryobi range into the Specialist consumer OPE market sector.

  • Carry out other ad-hoc responsibilities as requested by the General Manager from time to time.

Skills Required:

  • Relevant Sales and Marketing Qualification desirable.

  • At least 7-8 years strong field sales experience gained in relevant industry with a proven track record of sales success

  • Effective team/line management experience.

  • Good communication skills, both spoken and written; must be able to communicate at all levels.

  • Good Presentation skills

  • A strong working knowledge of relevant software packages used in the office environment (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CRM etc).

  • Strong analytical / financial acumen

  • Good OPE knowledge with ability to practically demonstrate product portfolio.

  • Strong selling and negotiation skills to help develop business relations to further grow/strengthen market share and profitability.

  • Good time management skills to include the co-ordination of multiple projects, ability to work with minimum supervision and delivery of results within strict deadlines

  • Ability to think strategically and in consideration of the widest picture.

  • UK travel and occasional European travel will be required.
