Our client, a leading company in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer for a critical defence programme. This role will be on a contract basis for an initial period of twelve months, and it requires working on-site for two days per week. This opportunity involves working within a company specialising in antennas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining firmware for defence-related applications
- Contributing to the design, development, and testing of firmware components
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of firmware with hardware and software systems
- Providing technical expertise and guidance on firmware development best practices
- Documenting firmware design and development processes
- Debugging and resolving firmware-related issues to ensure optimal performance
- Ensuring compliance with defence industry standards and protocols
- Supporting the lifecycle management of firmware through upgrades and maintenance
Job Requirements:
- Experience in firmware development within the defence industry
- Strong knowledge of software engineering principles and practices
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in firmware development
- Understanding of hardware and software integration
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders
Contract Details:
- 12 months contract
