International Trade Compliance Manager

Are you an expert in international trade compliance looking to lead and shape a compliance function within a dynamic organisation? We have an exciting opportunity for an International Trade Compliance Manager to drive strategic initiatives and ensure adherence to global trade regulations.

About the Role:

As the International Trade Compliance Manager, you will oversee and enhance trade compliance processes, ensuring full alignment with UK, EU, and US export control regulations (EAR/ITAR). You will lead a dedicated team, provide expert guidance, and collaborate across departments to support business growth while maintaining compliance excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the trade compliance function, ensuring adherence to global export control laws.

  • Develop and implement compliance strategies, policies, and procedures.

  • Provide expert advice on US, UK, and EU export regulations, including licensing requirements.

  • Drive process automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Deliver training and guidance on compliance best practices across the organisation.

  • Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including sales, engineering, supply chain, and regulatory bodies.

  • Assess and classify technology, hardware, and software to ensure appropriate authorisation and controls for exports and imports.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing teams.

  • A proactive and strategic thinker who can drive change and process improvements.

  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities, able to work effectively across all levels of the business.

  • Deep knowledge of UKML, Dual-Use, USML, EAR, ITAR, and related export control regulations.

  • A Bachelors degree in International Trade or a relevant field.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring compliance while supporting business objectives.

  • The ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC) is essential candidates who do not meet this requirement cannot be considered.
