We are working with a very exciting business based in Maryport, West Cumbria to recruit a Project Accountant to join the accountancy team.

They are already a global business but are looking to expand into new regions and markets. They work with some globally recognised brands, as well as working on some of the world's most prestigious events.
Description
The Project Accountant role is a really good opportunity for the successful applicant as it will offer a lot of exposure and responsibility in supporting the senior management team in making key decisions to contribute to their growth. Your day to day role will consist of the following main duties:
- Supporting the Financial Controller and Finance Director in reporting on key business projects
- Providing commercial analysis on new opportunities, acquisitions and performance of the company
- Supporting the preparation of month end reports
- Managing all capital expenditure on projects
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Developing systems and controls and looking for ways to improve financial reporting processes
- Analysing project performance against budget, and tracking variances with commentaries
Profile
For the Project Accountant role, you must have the following skills and experience:
- Part qualified CIMA/ACCA with a strong technical understanding of finance and accounts, or someone who is AAT qualified looking for their next step
- Ideally worked in a project environment
- Strong reporting skills with advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication skills, able to demonstrate liaison with stakeholders across the business
- Driven in their approach to get the job done to high level
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail
