Alexander Daniels is seeking a No.1 in finance for a SME manufacturing company in Derbyshire, offering a full-time, permanent position. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee financial operations, focusing on enhancing efficiency, profitability, cost control, and strategic growth. Collaborating closely with various departments, you'll play a crucial role in improving margins and ensuring the company's financial health and long-term sustainability. A hands-on approach is essential, as you'll be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and maintaining robust financial controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial reporting and analysis, evaluating performance and variances, while providing actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Prepare management accounts and produce key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Partner with operational leaders to drive performance, profitability, and efficiency.
  • Manage costs and inventory effectively.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Oversee CAPEX and asset management.
  • Ensure financial control and compliance with UK GAAP.
  • Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships effectively.

Ideal Candidate:

You will be a fully qualified finance professional (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent) with relevant experience in the manufacturing sector, including standard costing, variance analysis, and CAPEX management. A hands-on approach, along with strong commercial acumen, communication, and team management skills, is essential.
