Interim UK Financial Controller - 6-month FTC

Derbyshire - Hybrid (2/3 days)

£85,000 annually

Our client is looking for the support of an Interim UK Financial Controller due to an internal secondment. The role works closely with the Group Financial Controller to ensure the accuracy and transparency of financial reporting in compliance with IFRS standards. It also oversees critical functions including UK external reporting, balance sheet, finance shared services teams. The ideal candidate will be astute in driving continuous improvement across internal controls, while acting as a trusted business partner to stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver UK component of group external financial statements including disclosures
  • Oversee UK financial reporting, balance sheet management, and shared services operations
  • Drive improvements in the control culture and environment
  • Act as a trusted business partner to key stakeholders within wider finance teams
  • Manage UK statutory and regulatory accounts processes, including external audit sign-off
  • Coordinate and execute the UK audit process, liaising with external auditors
  • Provide technical accounting support across the UK business
  • Manage balance sheet risks and opportunities, focusing on working capital and cash flow
  • Prepare Board-quality outputs for significant accounting judgements and key deliverables
  • Oversee the statutory cash flow process and complete ad-hoc tasks as required

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified ideally from an audit background
  • Experience in external reporting, financial accounting, or related roles
  • Big 4 practice or large listed corporate - highly advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and ability to provide technical accounting advice
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls
  • Proficiency in SAP or equivalent system

Our client works a hybrid office model with 3 days in the office
