We are currently recruiting for an exciting Management Accountant opportunity for an East Midlands based public sector organisation.

Management Accountant

Duration: 4 months initially

Location: East Midlands (Hybrid working with 3 days on site)

Pay Rate: £19.95-£23.57 per hour PAYE or £22.70-£26.82 per hour Umbrella (inclusive of holiday pay)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the wider finance function including a proactive approach
  • Oversee the preparation and approval of annual budgets for designated divisions, ensuring accurate records are kept for all budget planning and adjustments
  • Manage the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely information through the creation of integrated financial and activity reports
  • Monitoring and forecasting of financial performance on a monthly basis, incorporating the use of activity statistics where appropriate
  • Hold direct line management responsibility for support staff, including recruitment, performance reviews, personal development, and workload distribution
  • Investigate variances and provide analytical reports on areas specifically requested by the budget holder
  • Monitor activity performance and identify the financial impacts
  • Reviewing and updating cost allocation
  • Offer general business guidance for divisional business plans, business cases, clinical strategies, and operational plans
  • Support Divisions with development of improved links between capacity, activity, income and expenditure information
  • Contribute to the improvement of financial procedures and systems within management accounts, in order to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction

Essential Requirements:

  • Public sector Experience
  • At least part qualified in a relevant accounting qualification
