Your new companyThis well-established business, based in Derbyshire, are market leaders in their field, seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to support the efficient operation of the accounts department.
Your new roleThis is a varied role. You will work within the finance team by managing day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and assisting with financial reporting and analysis.
- Assist with preparation of the monthly management accounts, including analysis and posting to ledgers
- Calculation and analysis of accruals and prepayments
- Analysis of invoices
- Reconcile bank accounts and assign sales invoices
- Intercompany postings and reconciliation
- Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Assets register
- Prepare/review weekly payment runs for approval
- Assist with reviews of stock provisions
- Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Provide information and analysis required for audits
What you'll need to succeed
- AAT qualified /part-qualified accountant
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
- SAP systems knowledge
- Experience working in a similar role
