Repairs Manager
Location: Derbyshire
Start Date: Immediate
Duration: 4 months initially with a view to extend beyond this
Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday, 37 hours per week
Working pattern: Flexible working available, but a minimum of 4 days per week in the office is required
Rate: Negotiable daily rate Inside IR35
Our client is seeking an experienced Repairs Manager to join their team on an initial 4-month contract, with a view to extend beyond this. If you’re a proactive leader with expertise in managing property repairs and maintenance, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and motivate a multi-disciplinary team to meet and exceed operational targets for responsive repairs and maintenance functions relating to the housing stock in accordance with policies, procedures and a 30-year Capital Investment Business Plan
- Assist with the overall management of the housing stock and associated buildings with a lead role in terms of property safety and overall condition of the properties with responsibility for the staff and other resources of the Repairs Section, which carrying out diverse tasks in the repairs and maintenance fields
- Manage the planning and day to day delivery of the responsive repairs, void repairs and property/estate inspections to facilitate transfers, mutual exchanges
- Oversee day to day repairs, contracts to ensure that performance is maintained within the priorities, service standards and budgets set by the council
- Manage budgets for Repairs within the Housing Revenue account, Repairs to vacant properties, Materials and stock, Fleet vehicles and equipment
Requirements:
- Local Authority experience is essential
- Proven experience in managing property repairs and maintenance services, with strong leadership and team management skills
- Understanding of current issues within repair and asset management including safety and compliance, carbon reduction
- Proven track record of managing budgets, projects and delivering on and improving levels of performance in the delivery of services
- Educated to or working towards degree level or equivalent, preferably in housing or a building/construction related discipline
- Detailed level of technical building knowledge, contract management, contract procedures and construction legislation and regulations
