Housekeeper / Cook Job - Nr Matlock Derbyshire - Live In Separate Cottage accommodation - full-time - start Jan 2025 - £40,000+ GPA
A returning client of Greycoat Lumleys is looking for an experienced Housekeeper / Cook to look after a large property in rural Derbyshire. This a great role for a candidate who is happy to live in a rural location. The family of 2 adults and 2 children also employ a cleaning company to do most of the cleaning but the Housekeeper will need to keep on top of this on a daily basis. The family also have a dog so you need to be child and pet friendly. This is not the family's main residence so you need to be happy to work when they are in residence which would normally include one of the parents being there 2/3 days during the week and the whole family going every other weekend. There are extended periods of time when they wont use the house when you will just need to keep things ticking over and secure.
Duties will include:
- Cooking - menu planning and preparation - family cooking when they are there and must be able to cater for small dinner parties.
- Cleaning - keeping on top of the cleaning although most of the heavy cleaning is covered by the cleaning company
- Generally keeping the home running smoothly
- Dealing with trades and contractors
- Household security
- Dog care and dog sitting when they are away
- Shopping and errands
- Occasional babysitting but childcare is not a key part of this role
Working hours will be full-time with some weekends required. Extensive periods when the house is not in use so you only need to be keeping the house ticking over and having it ready for when the family arrives.
