Head of Finance

My client is a Local Authority in the Central/Midlands who are looking to appoint an experienced Head of Finance on an interim basis.

About the role:

Based in Central/Midlands (Hybrid):

Leading the Financial Management and Strategy function for the finance service to ensure effective accountancy and financial management services are delivered.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop deliver and evaluate the Council's financial management strategy in accordance with the Councils financial strategies e.g., Finance Strategy, Treasury Management Strategy and Budget Monitoring Policy.
  2. Develop and lead on financial projects and change programmes that impact Council wide in order to meet strategic, operational and Council priorities.
  3. Maintain and develop accurate financial management systems to support the delivery of effective and accurate financial services in accordance with the requirements of the Financial Management Code.

What's on offer:

  • Salary: £600 - £700 per day, inside IR35.

About you:You will have the following experience:

Experience & Qualifications required:

  • A CCAB qualification (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience of leadership and operating at a senior management level in a complex organisation.
  • Experience of managing and motivating staff to deliver strong performance.
  • Knowledge of governance and legislation and how they can be applied in a local government environment.
