Head of Finance
My client is a Local Authority in the Central/Midlands who are looking to appoint an experienced Head of Finance on an interim basis.
About the role:
Based in Central/Midlands (Hybrid):
Leading the Financial Management and Strategy function for the finance service to ensure effective accountancy and financial management services are delivered.
Responsibilities:
- Develop deliver and evaluate the Council's financial management strategy in accordance with the Councils financial strategies e.g., Finance Strategy, Treasury Management Strategy and Budget Monitoring Policy.
- Develop and lead on financial projects and change programmes that impact Council wide in order to meet strategic, operational and Council priorities.
- Maintain and develop accurate financial management systems to support the delivery of effective and accurate financial services in accordance with the requirements of the Financial Management Code.
What's on offer:
- Salary: £600 - £700 per day, inside IR35.

- Hours: 09:00 -17:30 Monday to Friday
About you:You will have the following experience:
Experience & Qualifications required:
- A CCAB qualification (or equivalent).
- Significant experience of leadership and operating at a senior management level in a complex organisation.
- Experience of managing and motivating staff to deliver strong performance.
- Knowledge of governance and legislation and how they can be applied in a local government environment.
