We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim Chief Financial Officer from a Public Sector/NHS background. This person will play a pivotal role in developing the funding strategy for the Integrated Care Systems (ICS) to support the board in achieving their core purposes, including consideration of place-based budgets, and making use of bench marking to make sure that funds are deployed as effectively as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial executive for the NHS system working in partnership with lead finance officers in constituent organisations.
  • Lead executive for finance for the Integrated Care Boards (ICB) and support in discharging its statutory duties.
  • Support the chair and the function of the ICB's Finance & Estates committee
  • Establish appropriate governance structures, with NHS partners in the Integrated Care System (ICS) to deliver on the collective requirement of system financial balance and risk sharing
  • Responsible for influencing and contributing to the ICB plans and wider system strategies of the ICS, with the aim of driving innovation in clinical outcomes, reducing health inequalities and achieving better life outcomes across the ICS.
  • Ensure there are effective mechanisms for anticipating, identifying, and responding to key financial risks (including risk sharing arrangements) that could impact on the successful delivery of the ICB strategy

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (e.g., ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Computer and IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • NHS/Public Sector experience is required
