My client is looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to join their dynamic team in the East Midlands. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of driving productivity, quality, safety, and innovation, ensuring our engineering department consistently meets world-class standards.

Description

  1. Lead Engineering Excellence:

    • Spearhead the optimisation of all engineering operations, utilising processes to achieve world-class standards in productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale.
    • Drive innovation and transformational change, combining technology and people processes to enhance efficiency and adaptability.
  2. Build and Develop a High-Performing Team:

    • Role model the company values, actively coaching and developing your team through robust management practices.
    • Foster effective communication and create development opportunities that align with the company's strategic objectives.
    • Establish robust workforce and succession plans, ensuring readiness for future challenges.
  3. Ensure Compliance and Standards:

    • Oversee health, safety, environment, quality, and reliability standards, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
    • Support employees in achieving these standards through coaching, training, and resource allocation.
  4. Asset Quality and Reliability:

    • Lead the Progressive Maintenance (PM) pillar, ensuring the continuous improvement of the factory's assets.
    • Play a key role in site leadership, contributing to the overall strategic direction and success of the site.
  5. Strategic Engineering Leadership:

    • Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the brewery and broader business goals.
    • Manage budgets, capital plans, and long-term planning to ensure the engineering department meets or exceeds annual targets.

Profile

  • Degree in Science or Engineering; Chartered Engineer status is required.
  • Practical engineering qualifications or a time-served apprenticeship are highly valued.
  • Senior leadership experience within a Head of Engineering role, with strong exposure to food/beverage manufacturing
  • Proven track record in building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in coaching across all levels using the learn-do-teach principle.
  • Extensive experience in implementing World Class Supply Chain processes in fast-moving consumer goods or chemical environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing cost management.
