We are seeking an experienced Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) to join an estates team within a Derbyshire based local authority. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in their property services department and for this role to develop into a senior leadership role for the right person looking for that type of career development.

Description

You will play a key role in managing and optimizing our diverse property portfolio, providing expert advice and handling a wide range of estates management responsibilities. The position offers a blend of office-based and remote working, allowing for flexibility while maintaining strong connections with colleagues and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a varied portfolio of council properties, including commercial, residential, and community assets
  • Handling lease negotiations, rent reviews, and lease renewals
  • Providing strategic advice on property matters to internal departments
  • Conducting property inspections and preparing detailed reports
  • Managing relationships with tenants and external stakeholders
  • Contributing to the council's property strategy and asset optimization initiatives

Profile

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • MRICS qualified with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience
  • Proven track record in estates management and landlord & tenant matters
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Experience in property valuation and asset management
  • Excellent communication and report writing abilities
  • Valid driving license and ability to travel throughout the region

Job Offer

A salary of circa £55,000 + benefits is on offer for the successful candidate.
