Role Overview:
The Maintenance Surveyor will provide expert technical assistance within the Maintenance Team, overseeing property surveys, preparing specifications and schedules, managing the procurement of works, and ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards. The role includes supervisory responsibilities and requires a proactive approach to training and supporting staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct property surveys related to responsive and planned maintenance, ensuring repairs are carried out promptly and in accordance with priorities.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and complaints, offering effective advice and ensuring consultation and liaison.
  • Maintain accurate records of all surveys, inspections, and instructions.
  • Oversee procurement of works, ensuring transparency and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Prepare specifications, work schedules, and cost estimates, ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, and regulations.
  • Monitor contractor performance, ensuring works meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Assist in evaluating service charges for "Right to Buy" applications.
  • Attend and contribute to public meetings, customer panels, and other relevant forums.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety policies and regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance professional skills and capabilities.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in property maintenance and surveying.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, health and safety standards, and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and technology relevant to property management.

Desirable:

  • Experience in supervising or managing a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in building surveying or a related field.
