CK Group are recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor, to join a metal recycling company, at their site based near Matlock, on a full time, permanent basis.


The Company is a global leader in the recycling of metals, including lead, from batteries.


Salary:

35,000.


Location:

The Health and Safety Advisor will be based at the company's site near Matlock, commutable from Chesterfield, Bakewell, Buxton and Alfreton.


Health and Safety Advisor Role:

Your main duties will be:
  • Incident Review and Action: Collaborating with Operations and Engineering teams to review HSE incidents, identifying causes, and agreeing on corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintaining a strong understanding of Health and Safety laws, communicating changes in legislation, and ensuring the company remains compliant with legal requirements.
  • Health and Safety Inspections: Organising internal and external safety audits and inspections, ensuring actions from audits are completed on time.
  • Accident Investigation and Reporting: Assisting in accident investigations, including reporting under RIDDOR and conducting out-of-hours site visits when necessary.
  • Training and Safety Culture: Providing health and safety training, promoting safety education, and fostering a strong safety culture aligned with ISO 45001:2015 standards.
  • Monitoring and Liaison: Managing specific safety programs (e.g., Hand Arm Vibration, Lead Exposure), liaising with external agencies (HSE, Insurance, etc.), and providing necessary information for claims or regulatory compliance.

Your Background:


The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
  • NEBOSH - General certificate or Diploma qualified.
  • Chemicals/heavy industry experience.
  • At least 3 years experience in a Health and Safety role.
  • Brilliant communicator.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Calm when under pressure.
