Health & Safety Interim Consultant - Contract Logistics
Location: Derbyshire
Day Rate: £500-£550 per day
Duration: 3-6 months
Start: Immediate
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Interim Consultant to lead the setup and implementation of best practices for a new warehouse operation serving a large-scale industrial client. This is a critical role for ensuring compliance, safety, and operational excellence from the outset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring they meet both legal and industry standards.
- Define "what good looks like" in terms of safety performance, culture, and compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for the new site.
- Establish safe systems of work, including contractor management and machinery safety protocols.
- Provide training, guidance, and hands-on leadership to warehouse teams and management.
- Monitor and audit safety practices to ensure continuous improvement.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including clients and regulatory bodies, to maintain safety standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in leading Health & Safety within warehousing, logistics, or industrial environments.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive cultural change.
- Immediate availability and flexibility to work on-site in Derbyshire.
- NEBOSH or equivalent qualifications are essential.
