Fixed Plant Maintenance Engineer

Location: Longcliffe, Brassington

Salary: Competitive

Hours: Monday – Friday 50 hours per week plus part of a Saturday rota.

As one of the few remaining independent hard rock quarries in England, and one of the largest still family owned. We employ over 170 people, including those whose families also have worked with us for generations, and many of our employees have been with the company for over 25 years.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fixed Plant Maintenance Engineer to ensure the maintenance and repair of fixed plant equipment to a high standard, in compliance with company SHE and quality systems. The role requires adherence to all company policies and procedures at all times, while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure risk assessments and where required safe systems of work are effectively carried out for all activities.
  • Ensuring the fixed plant is maintained and repaired to a high standard, whilst complying with all company standards.
  • Carry out periodic inspections, adhering to planned maintenance schedules.
  • Where required compile specific reports as requested by your line manager.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Where required carry out fabrication work on plant improvements and or repairs to plants.
  • Reporting maintenance tasks and issues to your line manager where required.
  • Complete all mechanical tasks in a timely manner.
  • Report any defects or ongoing tasks to your line manager.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Be capable of carrying out task specific risk assessments and where required safe systems of work.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety Practices
  • Flexibility to undertake a range of tasks
  • Team player and flexible ‘can do' attitude
  • Willingness to learn and develop is essential
  • Good IT and communication skills
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills required
  • Driving Licence
