Role Overview

The Interim Head of Procurement will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities, managing supplier relationships, and developing strategic sourcing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in FMCG manufacturing procurement management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive cost savings and operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities of this role include :
  • Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's objectives.
    • Lead and manage the procurement team, providing guidance and support.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Supplier Management:

    • Manage relationships with key suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure the best terms.
    • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and address any issues.
    • Identify and onboard new suppliers to diversify and strengthen the supply chain.
  • Cost Management:

    • Drive cost-saving initiatives and optimise procurement processes.
    • Monitor and analyse procurement spend to identify opportunities for savings.
    • Develop and manage the procurement budget.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Evaluate and improve procurement processes and systems.
    • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Lead projects to integrate new technologies and tools in procurement operations.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure business continuity through effective risk management practices.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other departments (e.g., finance, operations, and legal) to ensure alignment and support business objectives.
    • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on procurement activities and performance

Key Attributes of the successful candidate include :

  • Extensive experience in FMCG Manufacturing Procurement including ingredients and packaging.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Evidence of working collaboratively with other departments to produce strong commercial outcomes.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
