The post - Study Support Assistant Ayr

We have an excellent opportunity to join our Disability Team in our Ayr Campus. We are looking for a reliable and committed individual to carry out the role of Study Support Assistant.

Reporting to the NMPH Team Coordinator, our Study Support Assistants provide support to disabled students on referral from the Disability Service. Duties including taking notes on behalf of students, providing proofreading support, assisting with mobility requirements and providing sighted guidance for students with a visual impairment.

This role is an hourly paid contract, the hours of work will depend on the organisation’s needs. Please highlight the hours you are available to work.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • HNC or equivalent, or relevant experience
  • Higher English, or relevant experience
  • Experience of supporting learners in Further or Higher education
  • Experience of working with adults with disabilities
  • Excellent literacy, IT, administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent note-taking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience of working with people from a range of backgrounds and with diverse communication styles and requirements
  • Ability to work independently and under own initiative
