About The Role

Morrison Energy Servicesare recruiting for aGeneral Foreman/Forewomanfor ourNational Grid contract in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to become an employee with Morrison Energy Services with opportunities to progress within a highly respected Net Zero focused company.
Morrison Energy Services is proud to delivering both M&E and EPC projects on behalf of National Grid. We are delivering substation build and refurbishment works across England & Wales including design, project management, cable installation, building construction, switchgear installation, commissioning, decommissioning and demolition.

As a General Foreperson your responsibilities will be:

  • Supervise site personnel on a daily basis, establishing and fostering a team environment and provide a two-way link between the site team and the site management team on all issues
  • Assist the Site Manager/Supervisor to set, communicate, monitor and manage performance standards/targets and identify training requirements.
  • Assist the site managers in the developing and implementing a proactive approach to the SHES plan.
  • Co-ordinating work activities to ensure that the activities their team are responsible for are delivered to programme and budget
  • Assist Site Manager/Supervisor & Resident Engineer to complete quality documentation, Inspection Test Plans (I.T.Ps) & Inspection Test Check Lists (I.T.Cs )and adherence for all activities.
  • Manage site staff levels and ensure there are adequate welfare facilities on site to meet all staff requirements by accurately reporting staffing levels to management.
  • Assist site management to track and record the performance of contractors and subcontractors against programme and budget.

Qualifications and Skills required:

  • SSSTS Site Supervisor Qualification
  • Authorised as a National Grid Competent Person.
  • Minimum of CSCS / CPCS / ECITB Supervisor Safety Passport / Card
  • Full First Aid At Work
  • HSG47
  • At least five years experience working in the Electricity Transmission or Distribution industries
  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience of supervising staff
  • A level of computer literacy including the ability to use Microsoft word, Excel and Outlook preferred although not essential
