ob Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Foreman for a 3-6 month contract based in Melksham, Wiltshire. As a Site Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing site activities, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of works in compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. You will assist the Site Supervisor in implementing quality procedures, ensuring programme compliance, and maintaining site documentation. The role will require effective coordination of materials, aligning with National Grid's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Site Supervisor in managing day-to-day site operations and ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies on-site, promoting a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with National Grid's policies and procedures, with a focus on maintaining high standards of safety and operational integrity.
  • Assist with site inspections, risk assessments, and the implementation of safe systems of work.
  • Coordinate the movement and supply of materials, ensuring they are ordered and delivered in line with the project requirements and relevant regulations.
  • Ensure that all site documentation is completed and updated accurately, in line with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and manage site operatives, ensuring they are properly trained and competent in their duties.
  • Support the Site Supervisor in maintaining project schedules and addressing any delays or issues that may arise.
  • Maintain effective communication between all team members and external stakeholders.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • SSSTS Site Supervisor Qualification - Must hold a current SSSTS qualification.
  • Authorised as a National Grid Competent Person - Required to be authorised by National Grid for relevant works.
  • Minimum of CSCS/CPCS Card - Essential for on-site work.
  • 2-day HSG 47 - Essential for health and safety procedures on-site.
  • 3-day First Aid - Must hold a valid 3-day First Aid qualification.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of site safety standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Experience in the construction or utilities sector, particularly in a similar role, is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
