AR698 – Site SupervisorLocation: MelkshamSalary: £32,500 + Overtime & VehicleOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Site Supervisor on behalf of one of our clients.Working as a site supervisor you will report into Site Managers and be deployed on an interesting range of projects as they come on stream. This role would suit someone that can handle pressure and prioritise his or her own workload. As a self-starter who enjoys working in a pro-active manner you will be able to communicate at all levels with clients, suppliers, and contractors.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completing daily site paperwork (Inductions / Permits / Audits /Inspections)
  • Maintaining project plan, scheduling and checking of materials and labour to ensure uninterrupted work and good productivity, site liaison with the client, authorities and subcontractors as required.
  • Site supervision sub-contractors, contract administration, variation control (incl. communicating implications to cost and programme), progressive snagging (appraisal and application)
  • Ensuring the site is tidy, clean and well organised to a high standard, thereby creating a good impression with Clients
  • Maintaining a highly visible presence on site throughout the day, liaising regularly with sub-contractors and stakeholders
  • Liaise with project manager / Site Manager and stakeholders 
  • Attend site meetings with Site Managers/ PM’s of client representatives as appropriate
  • Ensure documentation is maintained throughout project cycle, daily H&S check – accountability for both these aspects is to be agreed and documented in the overall Project plan if both Site Supervisor and Manager are on site daily
  • To ensure that projects are completed to Safety, Quality, Time and Cost measures ensuring that we always exceed our client’s expectations to realise repeat business opportunities
  • Working onsite carrying out a range on hands on activities as well as managing the site is a key aspect of the day to day role

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Able to demonstrate extensive hands-on experience of building and/or interiors contracting and/or electrical & mechanical installations
  • Able to demonstrate strong supervisory and leadership skills in a previous role with a proven successful track record in delivery
  • PC literate – MS Word, MS Excel (MS Project desirable if no Site Manager)
  • Good communicator – written, oral and numerate
  • Able to remain calm and professional under pressure or when having challenging conversations with stakeholders
  • A qualification in Health and Safety site supervision and site experience desirable
  • SSSTS qualification essential and SMSTS qualification advantageous but not essential
  • To have successfully completed a First Aid course
  • Able to solve problems creatively and prioritise workload
  • Trustworthy and Hardworking, able to meet tight deadlines
  • Team player, willing to be both working on the job as well as supervising others
  • Carry out other duties where the need arises
  • Commercial mindset – able to build relationships to develop opportunities and improve margins
