We’re working with a large pan-European manufacturing business, which operates 7 days a week, that is actively seeking to add an experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Electrician to join its site Manufacturing Engineering Support teams.
Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrically bias)
40 hours per week - Monday to Friday based on Double Day shift – 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm
Participation in weekend On Call Rota (approx 1 in 5).
Location: nr Melksham, Wiltshire
Salary: Circa £40,000 plus on call allowance
The position's responsibilities are:Â
- Reactive Maintenance on automated production machinery
- Pre-planned Maintenance (PPM) - Input to and carry out preventive maintenance routines
- Mechanical fault finding
- Electrical fault finding with and without diagrams (three phase and control systems)
- Fault finding and repair on hydraulic or pneumatic systems
- Small installation projects
- Continuous Improvement to maintain optimal machine efficiency
- To keep clean any areas in which you are working, including transit areas to and from the workshop, the workshop and stores
- Support the Operations team in achieving targets
- Complying to the company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Contributing to cost effective technical solutions
- Deliver to the operational expectations
- Be part of a weekend call-out rota
To be successful, we would like you to have:
- A recognised industrial Electrical qualification 18th Edition and Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent)
- Have experience working as a Shift Electrician or as a dedicated Electrical Engineer in a Manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the print, packaging or associated industries would be great but is not essential. But experience in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment is critical.
- Strong electrical fault-finding skill in particular on PLC’s, drives and inverters
- Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams
- Experience with maintenance PPM and RM programmes.
- Ideally experience working a buddy system with a Mechanical Engineer.
- Have good communication, organisational and team work skills.
- Self motivation, ability to apply initiative and determination.
Specific training where required will be provided, OEM suppliers and via remote modem diagnostic support from the OEM.
