Job Title: Fault-Finding Technician (Electronics)

Location: Melksham
Ongoing Contract
Pay rate: 14.05 p/h
Hours: 06:30 - 15:00 Monday - Thursday and 06:30 - 12:00 on Friday

Are you an experienced Electronics Technician with a strong background in diagnostics and fault-finding? How would you like to work within a global company, supporting the testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of safety-critical products in the rail industry?

Our client, a world leader in rail braking systems, is seeking a skilled Fault-Finding Technician to join their busy and friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with expertise in diagnosing electronic faults and performing component-level repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting faults in electronic and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Conducting in-depth testing using Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and other diagnostic tools.
  • Identifying and replacing faulty components in line with product specifications.
  • Ensuring the functionality of electronic assemblies post-repair through rigorous testing.
  • Collaborating with the assembly and repair teams to ensure efficient workflow.

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in fault-finding and diagnostics within an electronic environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Experience working with ATE and similar diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electronic components and circuits.
  • Familiarity with electromechanical systems is desirable.
  • IPC610 qualification or equivalent soldering experience is advantageous but not essential for this role.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

An immediate start is available for the right candidate, with the potential for a long-term ongoing contract.

This role would suit individuals with experience as an Electronics Technician, PCB Test Technician, or Diagnostic Engineer.
