About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Business Partner to join our organisation. This is a key managerial role, overseeing a team of 11 dedicated professionals. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial sustainability and operational effectiveness of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the department, aligning financial objectives with organisational goals.
  • Manage and monitor the department's budget, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
  • Develop and implement financial forecasting and reporting mechanisms to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead the budget planning and allocation process, ensuring resources are effectively utilised to deliver high-quality services.
  • Provide financial analysis and decision support to senior management on key strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee the management of financial risks and controls within the department.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure financial integration and alignment.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of 11 finance professionals.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner or in a similar financial management role within a public sector organisation.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and budgeting processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience in using financial management systems and tools.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW, CIPFA) is a compulsory requirement for this role.
