Location: Waltham on the Wolds (Hybrid - 2 days every other week in the office) Plus occasional travel to supplier sites in Nottingham and Rotherham

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Customer Development Manager on behalf of a global FMCG business. This role is an initial 6 month contract to be based at their Waltham on the Wolds office location on a hybrid basis plus occasional travel to supplier sites in Nottingham and Rotherham.
The Customer Development Manager / National Account Manager is responsible for driving profitable NSV growth within the Wholesale & Pet Specialist businesses. The role will involve managing all dimensions of the customer relationship internally and externally. The role will also play a key part in the development of the long term strategy for the customers.
Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day contact with customers, ensuring excellent service levels, timely deliveries, and effective promotional nominations.

Responsible for achieving profitable sales and category growth with assigned priority head office customers.

Create and execute customer plans that deliver company and customer objectives and advance category leadership.

Ensures strong customer relationships and influence at customer head office (to senior levels) to implement solutions (to include but not limited to sales revenue, trade revenue optimisation, customer profitability, category growth, category leadership, product range, new product launches, placement and pricing) throughout the chain that deliver mutually beneficial results for the customer and company.

Execute all agreed to solutions with the customer to include accurate, timely forecasting, detailed follow through and efficient trade revenue optimisation to an agreed budget.

Own the P&L for two key accounts, delivering against sales and profitability targets.

Negotiate and execute joint business plans.

Manage and regularly adjust sales forecasts and budgets (spend etc.).
Key Skills / Experience Required:

Previous experience in a CDM / National Account Manager role

FMCG background (supplier-side sales) is highly desirable.

Proven experience in negotiating and executing joint business plans.

Ability to effectively manage periodic adjustments to sales forecasts and budgets.

Proven ability to manage multiple customers simultaneously.

Demonstrated proficiency in account management, including internal forecasting and business planning.

Experience in leveraging the fundamentals of Category Leadership to drive category growth; ability to tell the category story.

Experience in managing a budget and/ or trade revenue optimization delivering budget and ROI

Customer experience with direct and head office customers delivering solutions that cover product, placement, promotion and/ or pricing; with a track record of meeting/ exceeding sales objectives, establishing effective business relationships with key decision makers at multiple levels
