Digital AutoCAD Technician // AutoCAD // GIS // Leicestershire // 6 months //  £Negotiable DOE (Umbrella)  

REED Technology are working with a East Midlands based client who are looking for an Digital AutoCAD Technician to join their Surveying and Estates data function at GMS. The successful applicant will support the operational mines and quarries, ensuring a comprehensive and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the processing of internal and external stock surveys.
  • Process raw field data, including surface surveys, to produce accurate plans and volumetric calculations using CAD systems.
  • Create 3D models and solids, and complete time-based safety reports based on data.
  • Manage and maintain interoperability between systems to ensure a single version of the truth.
  • Ensure the integrity and standardisation of all CAD/Geospatial data.
  • Produce topographical maps and provide necessary data for business operations.
  • Assist in managing geospatial land, legacy, and property terrier applications for the organisation and tenanted land.
  • Seek out best practices and maintain CPD to uphold professional competencies.
  • Mentor colleagues in geospatial best practices.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience in using drawing packages such as AutoCAD, QGIS, ArcGIS
  • Experience in surveying, estates management, or a related field.
  • CAD/GIS or similar related mapping/geospatial experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Desirable skills:

  • CAD/GIS or similar related mapping/geospatial qualification (or working towards)
  • Experience with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) technology
  • Knowledge of LiDAR, photogrammetry, and geospatial data management.
  • Geospatial or Data Management qualification
