McBride Sport are delighted to be supporting another superb opportunity. The BOWLS DEVELOPMENT ALLIANCE (BDA) is a partnership organisation established in 2010 by the four National Governing Bodies, in conjunction with Sport England to work across the codes to develop the game, invest government funding affectively and to inspire more people to participate in the sport. Built on a proud heritage and an enduring passion for community sport, the BDA is committed to ensuring that bowls remains inclusive, safe, and accessible for everyone.

Our partners include Bowls England, the English Indoor Bowling Association, British Crown Green Bowling Association, and the English Short Mat Bowling Association. Bowls is a popular sport with low barriers to entry and opportunities to participate throughout the year. It is a sport that people of all ages and abilities can actively enjoy recreationally through to elite competition. Collectively, the sport has the reach of 4,700 clubs and 300,000 members across England.

While we celebrate our achievements, we also recognise the difficulties ahead, including the need to broaden participation among diverse communities and to secure much-needed funding for the sport. This is a pivotal moment for a new Chair to step forward and guide us into the future. We are looking for someone who will embrace the historical issues, the cross-code differences and provide continued stability, while bringing a fresh perspective, strategic insight, and a deep passion for community sport to further our impact and build on our solid foundation.

This is a part time, Non-Executive position for someone with previous understanding, skills and experience of the duties and responsibilities associated with being a non-executive Board member of a non-profit organisation.
