An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trial Support Laboratory Technician! Join our client, a large global FMCG organisation, based in Waltham on the Wolds, Leicestershire, just a few miles from Melton Mowbray.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our client's department and providing assistance in implementing their research needs. Your main objective will be to prepare flavour solutions and model food systems for cat and dog trials, as well as process biological samples for laboratory analysis. Attention to detail and adherence to laboratory practise standards are vital.

Details of the role:

- Contract type: Fixed Term Contract.

- Contract length: 6 months.

- Pay rate: 11.70 per hour.

- Location: Waltham on the Wolds, Melton (please note this role is remote, so access to your own car is essential).

Some weekend work required paid at overtime rate

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare flavour solutions and model food systems for trials.
  • Process biological samples, such as saliva and faeces, for laboratory analysis.
  • Attend trial planning meetings and reviews.
  • Liaise with research members on trial requirements and progress updates.
  • Effectively interpret and adhere to risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
  • Learn and adapt quickly, showcasing high learning agility.
  • Collaborate with Research Scientists to develop new methodologies.
  • Training on new equipment and methodologies.
  • Carry out test runs to ensure successful trials.

Skills Required:

  • Lab experience is beneficial.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment.
  • Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work on different trials per week.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Willingness to work under the guidance of the Research Support Coordinator.
  • A strong commitment to quality work.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum A-Level education or equivalent is required.
  • A higher education qualification (BSc or similar) in a scientific discipline is desirable.
