Our client, a leading organisation in the field of animal care and research, is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join their team as Animal Carers.

Pay Rate: £13.71- £13.83 per hour

Working Pattern: Full Time, Rota'd shifts (6.30am-2.30pm, 9am-5pm or 8am-4pm), including weekends and Bank Holidays.

(Please note a new shift pattern will take affect in January 2025 - 8am-6pm to create a better home/work life balance - you must be able to commit to the shift pattern when applying for this role)

THE JOB

As an Animal Carer, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care for our furry friends while contributing to important research projects. Your priority will be the health and safety of the animals under your care, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. Your daily tasks will involve working closely with cats and dogs, gaining valuable knowledge in animal behaviour and training from our team of experts. Taking samples, preparing food, walking/training the animals and observing any changes in their behaviours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide excellent care and training for our furry companions, ensuring their well-being.
  • Utilise positive reinforcement techniques to promote desired behaviours.
  • Collect research data and biological samples, with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to enhance our client's work.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualities:

  • A genuine passion for animal care and welfare.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with the animals and your team.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate data collection.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Own transport is essential due to the location
  • Multitasking is a key part of this role, with the ability to keep calm and manage time and and tasks efficiently.

Experience: Comprehensive training will be provided, so no prior animal care experience is necessary.

Due to the nature of the location, any applicants must be able to get to Waltham on the Wolds independantly as public transport does not go to/near the site.
