Our mission is to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.Role Overview:We are seeking a passionate and creative Drama Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) children and a strong understanding of SEMH needs and managing challenging behaviour. You will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging drama activities that inspire and support our students' in improving confidence and social development.We will consider applications from HLTAs or experienced teaching assistants. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver drama activities tailored to the needs of SEN children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Use drama as a tool to enhance students' confidence, communication skills, and emotional expression.
  • Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages creativity and positive behaviour.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to develop individualised learning plans.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
  • Participate in school events and activities, promoting the benefits of drama education.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with SEN children, particularly those with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Strong knowledge of drama techniques and their application in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications in drama therapy or related fields.
  • Experience in a specialist school setting.
