Our client, a reputable provider of supported living services for young people under the age of 18, is seeking a compassionate and resilient Senior Support Worker to join their dynamic team in the Chichester area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with young individuals who have experienced trauma and neglect, providing them with the support and guidance they need to thrive.
About Our Client:
Our client is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for young people. They work in partnership with the Local Authority and various professionals within Social Services to ensure the best possible outcomes for the young people they support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to young people in a supported living environment, addressing their individual needs and promoting their well-being.
- Work with young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, mental health issues, and attachment difficulties.
- Ensure young people are accessing education and participating in positive activities.
- Develop and implement individual care plans, regularly reviewing and updating them in collaboration with the team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files.
- Work in partnership with the Local Authority, MASH, and other professionals within Social Services.
- Safeguard young people and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Provide mentorship and support to other Support Workers within the setting.
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour effectively.
- Complete all mandatory training as required by the company.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Support Worker, preferably with young people.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and practices related to young people.
- Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, and mental health issues.
- Ability to work effectively in partnership with the Local Authority and Social Services.
- Experience working with MASH.
- Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and files.
- Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not offered).
- Enhanced DBS check (update service preferred).
Working Hours:
- 40 hours per week.
- 1 weekend off per month.
