This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Assistant Management Accountant to play a pivotal role within a growing Accounting & Finance department in an industrial/manufacturing environment in Merthyr Tydfil.

Description
- Manage the daily input of information checking, matching and processing documents
- Identify and resolve accounting errors and discrepancies.
- Analyse financial information in response to queries from Managers/suppliers/clients.
- Maintain filing systems
- Production of month end finance reporting pack (P&L, balance sheet & cashflows)
- Month end balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitor and manage monthly cashflows and budget
- VAT, PAYE and other taxes - submit VAT returns online and deal with HRMC
- Year end audit planning and preparation
- Stock reconciliations and physical counts
- Financial analysis to be untaken as and when necessary
- Costing of products - materials, people and overhead costs
- Assist with ad hoc finance work as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Company accounting policies
- Identify cost savings through spend analysis
- Monitor supplier performance, resolving or escalating queries where appropriate
- Reconcile Supplier Statements
Profile
A successful Assistant Management Accountant should have:
- Qualification Part Qualified ACCA, CIMA, AAT or QBE
- Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- Proficiency with accounting software
- Excellent analytical skills and experience creating reports and presentations
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team
