Teqniq is searching for a Pre-School Assistant to work in the public sector.

15 hours per week.

Job Description:

The role is for a Preschool assistant working in a Flying Start setting for children aged 2-3 years old. The Pre-school Assistant must have a clear full Enhanced DBS check before starting, experience of working in Childcare and a Level 3 Childcare qualification listed on the Social Care Wales qualification framework.

The successful person will assist the leader and Deputy in all areas of work in the day to day running of the setting. This will include ensuring safe, stimulating play opportunities for each individual child; fulfilling legal and statutory requirements; contributing to and implementing pre-school policies; possibly acting as a key worker for a group of children.

The role involves managing the behaviour of all children in a way that respects their rights, promotes their welfare and development and follows setting policies. You will be expected to carry out day to day administration tasks, ensuring you read the One Page Profiles for children, write observations about the children and complete all necessary paperwork as requested by the Leader.

You will be expected to work as part of a team, follow a daily routine, spend time indoors and outdoors whilst children free-play, help the team set up interesting and fun invitations to play which are based on the children's interests, serve snack to a small group of children.
